Focus:
During the final year project, a student must understand the problem they are working on, define its boundaries, investigate possible solutions, work on the most probable solution, establish the effectiveness of that solution, present the whole work done in writing, verbally and in action. All tasks must be planned, scheduled and executed effectively.
At the university, supervision is usually performed in small groups or one-to-one with the assigned supervisor where progress and issues are discussed. Our experts at Efixis are available to provide further guidance and supervision.
Package includes:
• Maximum of 6 supervisory sessions (30 minutes each);
• Ensure clear understanding of the project topic;
• Advise on the overall planning process and requirements;
• Guide on aims, objectives, methodology and deliverables;
• Review and advise on the project proposal;
• Discuss development of solutions and results expected;
• Review and advise on analysis of results obtained;
• Discuss project summary, conclusions and future work;
• Discuss structure of final report;
• Review draft project report and offer suggestions for improvement.

The postgraduate project follows a similar structure as the undergraduate one but demands a much higher academic involvement. Again, the student must understand the problem they are working on, define its boundaries, investigate possible solutions, work on the most probable solution, establish the effectiveness of that solution, present the whole work done in writing, verbally and in action with all tasks being planned, scheduled and executed effectively. However, the student is expected to dig much deeper into the realms of the project and provide a much higher level of involvement and understanding of the whole process.

Focus:
Undertaking a PhD project via scientific research is a journey whose goal is to push the boundaries of knowledge and science. Work is being done where it has not been done before and as such there is no way of knowing what the outcome will be unless the person undertaking this work plans accordingly and does theoretical work in order to predict what the outcome may be. Even so, this does not mean that in every case the experimental results will prove that the theory was right. They may prove that the theory was not adequate to predict the experimental outcome or that the equipment and knowledge available at that moment in time might not be in a position to prove whatever the theoretical analysis was suggesting. Either way, undertaking a research project is an exciting but very demanding journey and one can be sure they will not be the same person they were at the start of this journey.
At the university, a research student will be allocated a supervisory team and supervision will be taking place mainly with the supervisor who is a subject matter expert and supported by the second supervisor who may be an expert Professor overseeing the process or a new research supervisor developing their research experience.
Our experts at Efixis have supervised several PhD students to successful completion and are available to provide further guidance and supervision.
