Focus:
For those graduates who wish to progress further to the highest level of academic echelons by pursuing a research degree (PhD). The first step is the submission of a well thought of application.
To succeed, one must convince a panel of Professors at a university that they have the knowledge, ability and potential to undertake such a demanding task through a proposal and interview. If successful, they will then be offered a place to study towards a research degree (MPhil/PhD). Finally, through the submission of a substantial report and the Viva Voce Examination, defend their findings to a panel of expert Professors.
Package includes:
• 4 Consultation sessions (45-minutes each);
• Consultation sessions via Skype or FaceTime;
• Discuss and advise on your intended research direction;
• Evaluation of academic qualifications, skills and competencies;
• Evaluation of professional skills, qualifications and experiences (if any);
• Establish that you meet the entry requirements and that you are eligible to apply for a research degree;
• Suggest suitable list of universities based on research direction;
• Provide list of documents required for the application;
• Fill in the research degree application and ensure supporting documentation is attached, including reference letters;
• Edit and advise on personal statement;
• Preparation of CV and Cover Letter;
• Advise, plan, review and edit your research proposal;
• Submission of complete application to 3 universities;
• Provide interview preparation, techniques and practice.
The Research Proposal - Purpose:
• Will serve as an indicator of your ability to undertake research;
• Will enable the university to evaluate the viability of the suggested topic and whether it has the necessary expertise to supervise it and equipment to support it.
The Research Proposal - Must Include:
• Area to be investigated and reasons supporting the suggested topic;
• Indicative title, research question, aims & objectives, methodology and deliverables, including contribution to scientific knowledge;
• Literature review supporting the case for the research;
• References supporting your literature review and suggested topic;
• Must be approximately 2,000 words long.
The Interview - Will Determine:
• Your competence and knowledge of the topic suggested;
• Your ability and determination to conduct research independently;
• The nature and skillset required for supervision of the research.

Application Deadlines for the Receipt at UCAS of Applications:
15 October 2017 - 18:00 (UK time) - All medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and veterinary science courses and for all courses at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge.
15 January 2018 - 18:00 (UK time) - All courses except those listed above with a 15 October deadline, and art and design courses with a 24 March deadline.
24 March 2018 - 18:00 (UK time) - Art and design courses except those listed with a 15 January deadline.
30 June 2018 - 18:00 (UK time) - Last date for the receipt of all other applications for immediate consideration.
Clearing - Applications received after 30 June 2018 will be held for Clearing.
International Applicants Applying from Outside the UK or EU:
Many universities and colleges will consider international applications as long as they are received at UCAS by 30 June 2018. This does NOT apply to applications for the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, courses in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or veterinary science for which course applicants must apply by 15 October 2017.
Applicants must apply as early as possible as Universities and Colleges do not guarantee to consider applications they receive after 15 January 2018, and some popular courses may not have vacancies after that date.
Applicants are advised to allow enough time for entry clearance or immigration checks, and to make travel and accommodation arrangements, which can take longer during the summer when immigration departments are busy.
