Career Coaching

Career Planning & Coaching

Coaching helps and enables everyone, including students and professionals, to focus, improve, develop, learn new skills, find success, achieve aims and manage life change and challenges. It addresses attitudes, behaviours, knowledge as well as skills and capabilities. Strategic planning and commitment in the challenges ahead will empower you to reach your goals.

Coaching is delivered accordingly whether as early career planning, career coaching, executive coaching or outplacement service. In all cases, the intention is to improve the professional performance of the coachee and enable them to reach their goals. In the first and second instances, the process is driven by the coachee and the goal is to focus their career direction and improve their performance. In the third instance, the process is driven by the organisation and the goal is to enable the coachee to meet the goals set to them and so improve their performance within the organisation. In the last case, the process is usually driven by the organisation in an effort to enable employees being laid off to find employment elsewhere.

CV / Resume Writing

Early Career Planning

The end of secondary or tertiary education brings with it joys but also concerns about the future. Whether you are looking towards further academic or vocational education, employment, taking a gap year, or you are simply not sure what to do next, our experts are here to help you make the right decision. We can work with you to identify a path based on your skills as well as wishes and dreams.

This service is aimed towards those individuals who have not decided what to study for or what to do once their education is completed, ie once their secondary or degree education days are over. Specifically for those who:
• are just completing their secondary education and wondering what to do: look for employment, internship, vocational training or university education?
• have decided that they want to study at a university but they need help to decide what subject.
• are just completing their degree level university studies and are considering furthering their education with an MSc or PhD, or look for employment.

Through our consultation sessions, we will identify your strong points, skills, capabilities and your wishes regarding your professional direction and then consider the market position as it applies to you. We will then evaluate these and suggest options for the most appropriate ways forward.

Career Coaching

Career coaching helps individuals reach their goals. The process focuses on identifying what the coachees want and need from their career. Decisions are made to enable needed actions to be taken in order to accomplish their career objectives and a balance between career and personal life.

The career coaching process takes place as follows:

• Identification by coach of the existing undesirable performance related behaviour;
• The coachee explains where they believe the undesirable performance behaviour is based;
• Explanation by the coach on the expectations from the coachee;
• Agreement reached on the effect of this behaviour on the coachee and the organisation;
• Identification of desirable behaviour through a collaborative plan;
• Commitment by coachee on the next steps to deal with the issue at hand;
• Make arrangements for following meetings at regular intervals;
• Monitoring of coachee's feedback in the form of comments, instructions and suggestions;
• Provide feedback to the coachee on their progress.

Executive Coaching

Executive coaching is a very dynamic tool towards developing high potential employees, retaining top talent and readying executives for progression. It is a 3-way partnership between the coach, the executive and the organisation with all three parts contributing. Coaching is conducted based on both the executive and the organisation's goals and needs with the intention of benefiting both parties.

The executive coaching process takes place as follows:

• A collaboration / partnership is set up between the three parties;
• Ground rules, time frames, specific goals and measures of success are agreed;
• Approaches followed include the creation of a development plan, building of skills, performance improvement, focused development on future assignments, development of leadership skills based on the organisation's needs;
• Coaching processes include needs analysis, evaluation, planning, goal setting, development and implementation of coaching plan, monitoring of progress;
• Coaching practices include problem solving, solutions' planning, exploratory communication, feedback, use of leadership development tools and other resources;
• Focusing on developing and shaping up the executive towards developing skills to meet strategic business objectives;
• The process also includes other stakeholders from the organisation.

Outplacement Services

One of the most important success elements of organisations is to ensure that employees feel that they are the most important assets and that they are being valued and treated with respect. This is most evident when an organisation is forced to lay off some of its employees since this is where the organisation's commitment to its employees will become evident, not just by the support it provides to those going but also to the eyes of those staying! Other than the severance pay received by those going, organisations who value their employees, brand and image, offer outplacement services to help prepare those laid off for the difficult journey ahead.

As far as the actual employees are concerned, being laid off when their role has been made redundant (voluntarily or otherwise) is one of the most stressful situations they may find themselves in. It is also an opportunity to start again with a new employer, change career path, return to education or even start one's own business. There are many options on moving forward and our experts at Efixis are here to help you evaluate your status and make the right decisions to move forward supported by our outplacement services which are tailor-made on you to support you on your way ahead.

At Efixis, since our clients come from many countries, we use interactive outplacement services and so an employee does not need to travel to see their career coach.
